AYCJ
Dunkin Donuts just opened a local branch that accepts the JetBlue Free HashBrown Coupon. Now I'm kicking myself that I have thrown away tons of them over my trips...If anyone has extras and doesn't need them, send them my way. ;-)

Pittsburgh Mayoral Election 2009
The certified results show that:
Luke Ravenstahl got 607 votes
Josh Wander got 189 votes
Patrick Dowd got 161 votes
and
Carmen Robinson got 42 votes
I received almost a fifth of the Pittsburgh Republican vote in the mayoral primary. That was with only 3 days and no money, imagine what we could do with more time and money!
Luke has, for the time being, accepted the nomination and will be running on both ballots against Independent Kevin Acklin.
Isn't it a sad state of affairs when three out of four of the top Republican write-in candidates in Pittsburgh were Democrats! What does this say about Pittsburgh's abused political system?
Thank you again for the 189 people that stood up to the plate at the last minute to try and help Pittsburgh stay (become, maybe?) a Democracy consisting of multiple parties!
As the 'esteemed' Republican governor of California once said, "I'll be back!"

Real Time Election Results
After having spent all morning counting ballots Downtown at the Board of Elections, I am sad to announce that from my count, Luke Ravenstahl will be the Republican nominee for the general election in November. So he will have both the Democratic and Republican nominations and be on both sides of the ballot!
How disturbing for Pittsburgh to have only one candidate to vote for. What happened to democracy? To a two party system?
Isn't it sad that with thousands of special interest dollars you can buy a nomination?
When will pittsburghers wake up?
Fortunately, we have Kevin Acklin running as an independent to vote for...
Stay tuned for more details of the election results!
The results were as follows: (disclaimer- these are not the official results, but they are as accurate as can be obtained from reading the tapes)
Luke Ravenstahl - 497
Josh Wander - 147
Others - 245
Absentee ballots (uncounted) - 241
This of course gives a clear lead to Luke as I ran too late to have any absentees. Also, it is interesting to note that the majority of 'others' were for Pat Dowd. (I guess as protest votes!) There were also quite a few for Carmen Robinson...
