PodCamp Pittsburgh

I just went to a few sessions of Podcamp2 in Pittsburgh. (click here for the link)

There were a couple of hundred Pittsburghers that got together to exchange ideas regarding what they called the "Burgosphere". I found it refreshing on a number of levels. First, I found many like- minded individuals that were as 'geeky' as I am. Second, I actually got to meet in person several of the bloggers that I have been following for months and last, it is nice to know that Pittsburgh is not as apathetic as I always believed.

During my first session, I mentioned that I found the camp via a link on cnn.com (albeit a local link) and was greeted by a round of applause from the audience.

On my way out, I met Bill Peduto a few blocks away and told him that he was just spoken about. When I told him, "at the Podcamp", he said, "Yeah! I'm headed there right now!". I guess there are even geek politicians out there!

I encourage everyone to get involved and speak out and learn the technology of the present for it is already shaping our future whether you realize it or not...

Here's a link to an article from the Trib.

Hi Joshua. It was great that you pointed that out to us. Made the room realize just how important Pittsburgh is to the social media scene. : )
